A forwarded message from Jed and Erica Donahue
Thursday, August 14th, 20088-14-08– Some of you may know that Jed and Erica Donahue, the oldest son of Diane and Bernie Donahue and his wife, have gone on a year long excursion around the world. They are currently in Beijing at the Olympics and forwarded the following email to me today:
“Thanks for sending this on. Erica and I are in Beijing right now and go to our first event tonight (prliminary lightweight boxing). Surprisingly, there are tickets still for sale and the hotels are not fully sold out. We are not Olympic “diehards”, and will probably not try to get in to table tennis or judo. The “A” events such as diving and 100m run are going for around $100 to $200+ depending on the seat. We have tickets to get into the Bird’s Nest to see the finals of the womens’ 30km speed walking. I don’t even care if we show up late for that one. It will be cool to see someone win a gold though.
I hope things are good for you and your family. I have been able to talk to Kathleen lately and it certainly helps to know that she is surrounded by family and friends who relate to what she is about to go through. Prayer works and Erica and I continue to keep Shana in ours. Tell everyone we say hello.
Take care,
Jed”
Jed and Erica will go to Vietnam, Thailand, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and possibly other places before they return for a visit sometime next year. Keep them and Kathleen, Jed’s sister, who has recently been diagnosed with Thyroid cander in your prayers.
Shana is doing great right now except that she is broken out in a head to toe rash from her chemotherapy. The medicine she is taking for that makes her very sleepy so she sleeps a good portion of the day during the last few days. Give her a call. She likes to hear from people.
Keep praying, its working…..
