Overall, Mom had a pretty good week. We decorated the house for Christmas and even made it to Target and Hobby Lobby. We had an orientation/ patient ed. class at the Fort Worth Cancer Center yesterday. Everyone there is very nice, and the facility is comfortable. We stopped by to see her doctor and requested an outpatient appointment to be drained, but they couldn’t get us scheduled until Monday, so we’ll see if she makes it through the weekend. If she can’t, its back to the ER. Today, we tried to teach ourselves to crochet, and we learned that it isn’t as easy as it looks. Our projects are kind of funny looking, but it kept us busy. We have had a nice time together, so I’m really happy about that. Unfortunately, I leave tomorrow, but I’m sure I’ll be back soon enough. Thanks to everyone who brought food, hats and treats- I think I gained a good 5 lbs this week!

11-28-07 Really good day

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Not much to report today. Shana had a really good day and got out some with her daughter April and I got to take them to lunch. She is getting bigger again and probably will have to have the fluid drained off of her in a day or two. She went to bed early and ate a couple of large meals today. She is starting to put back on some weight so things were looking up until she found in the evening that her hair is beginning to come out in lumps.

I haven’t heard much more about James Hammond so if anyone has any information, I would appreciate an update on his condition and I will pass it on.
Shana is now in her infectious period where her cell count is the lowest and she can catch bad things so I don’t want her going out much but if you want to call, feel free to do so for the next few days. She is feeling pretty good and since she can’t get out much she feels like she is losing touch with the world. However, she sometimes is tired and takes several naps during the day so don’t be offended if she cant take your call when you call. Thanks again to all those who are concerned about my love.
